South African Karma Yoga Teacher Leads Humanitarian Communications Team to India

Posted by:

It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I feel the imbalance of Rishikesh, and my role as Karma Yogi is apt for the impression I hope to make within the yoga community. My opinion in these matters are messages I am being guided to share at this time with the utmost sincerity. I am only sharing these messages with you as they are being revealed to me through my own experiences and realizations in Divine timing.

A disappearing trick – 11 days to go

Posted by:

As I sit contemplating how it got to be 11 days left to go I find myself pondering on the words, home is where the heart is. In this case my home is not where my heart is because it feels like it’s spreading out over many different places. My things, my four cats (all finally and thankfully homed), even my daughter’s trip back from Goa alone will see my heart spreading wider and further. Feeling lost is an understatement ...

The Force Behind Us – 31 days to go

Posted by:

Whichever power and force is behind the remarkable events Anton and I have experienced individually and together since last year November we feel completely safe in our decision and have weighed the process against all the other opportunities here in South Africa.

Pamela and Anton

I see many thoughts and ideas over time that have shaped us and created a society where our children should feel free enough to dream of limitless opportunities, to be ...

Karma Yoga – Blessings from the Universe

Posted by:

TO: THE LEELA HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND STAFF – THANK YOU!

I don’t know if it was karma, fate or pure coincidental luck that introduced me to your employee Arwind Rawat on the streets of Mumbai that hot October evening but I was open to any blessings the universe would offer at the time. I had been in Mumbai for 4 days and was beginning to feel quite alone in this big city. My current hotel was less than adequate for a ...

Detachment…an unselfish reality

Posted by:

Since the beginning of my yoga journey I’ve noted consciously doing some involuntary actions less…we generally have little control over our emotions which tend to rule our personalities…one thing I know for sure is that my emotions, mostly the negative, especially crying whether it’s been out of anger, frustration or sadness have become easily manageable.

As a continuation from my previous blog posts about ‘letting go’ and ‘withdrawal of the senses’ there is another word which, if not understood, could certainly ...

Sharing

I’m trying to recap the past three weeks. The 20 days seem to have passed so slowly,  so much has happened, so much has changed. At the beginning of the week my mood and attitude had been stretched. I wasn’t happy and the rain seemed to me, to be a negative manifestation of my feelings. Yesterday morning feeling much better I left the breakfast table and made my way to my room passing through a shaft of light. I was ...

Floods of Love

Posted by:

I’ve been awake listening to the rain. It woke me up at 01h45 and I opened my door to the downpour and a cool breeze on my face. It’s like a disco in the heavens and I’ve sent my intentions to the rooftop. The rain is relentless and the thunder is knocking on earths door with the force of the heavens behind it. The room lights up when I close my eyes.

This rain feels cleansing…like love…tolerable, ever present and giving. ...

Colourful Days

Posted by:

India can be described as a cataclysmic explosion of humanity in its truest form. Totally transparent and free spirited, there are no airs and graces with the locals. Being a holy city, travellers to Rishikesh vary from the obvious tourist to spiritual leaders, Indians from all corners and government officials. I’m quite sure there”s much going on around here that I don’t know about but from inside my room all I hear are hooters and I’m pleased I didn’t brave ...

Routine and Simplicity

Posted by:

It’s unbearably hot this evening, I can’t wait to turn off the light.

I feel like I’ve been in India for so long already. I can only put it down to the 04h30 wake up routine, An additional 3 hours in a morning can have that effect and with the pace of a peaceful day can put you into a blissful eternity.

Connect with YOU

Posted by:

I have been searching for a very long time.

I was very young when my mind and body went through trauma and I became separated from myself…

The course is in it’s third day and already I feel that so many questions have been answered and I have been able to affirm what I’ve been feeling for some months. Here there is no rule that what you are being taught you must learn and accept or if you disagree or there is ...
