Karma Yoga…my last days

Posted by:

Pictures are worth a thousand words…

There are not enough words to express the feelings of gratitude I have for being fortunate enough to help the people of Rishikesh. Today the babas received soap and facecloths – part of donations received in kindness, and to those who contributed I am very grateful. The final days are here as I plan my departure on Monday 21 July to travel for one week in India before going back home. I will continue to work whenever possible until then doing first aid and specialist care until the weekend as well as distributing the last of the donations during that time.

It is not an easy environment to work in. Even though the images may tell a ‘romanticised’ story, the dirt, flies and animals are consistently hovering and the smells are putrid. It does not deter the fact that I would continue to commit myself to this work if I could. My only sadness is taking away a very necessary and vital resource which we are all entitled to – good health care!
